Seven years ago, I became a freelance consultant and by necessity created my own website discovering that it was an all immersive experience, even fun. Since then, I’ve built sites for businesses and associations realizing along the way that I could make a difference : working with people to create better web sites that produce results.
I’m a real, live licensed architect specializing in architectural lighting design, which all at once is both technical and artistic. I’ve also managed trade shows for large corporations (think project management = herding cats).
These experiences are strangely not much different than web design and marketing : define goals, define problems, propose solutions, create a plan, implement, measure returns and maintain going forward.
A few other less than important facts about me:
- Favorite architect : Frank Lloyd Wright (I am from Illinois, Prairie School all the way.)
- Favorite lighting project : American Museum of Natural History Rose Planetarium, NYC
- Obsessed with : golf, CrossFit, running and cycling (in the early morning hours though not all at the same time)
WordCamps are great, I go as often as I can. I seek continuous learning about all things WP.
